OBJECTIVESeeking a position with a stable and established company where I may utilize my programming and management skills to grow my career while expanding my knowledge and skill set. EXPERIENCEiPhone Developer - Contract March 2008 Present Veredus, Tampa, FL I worked with the client to design, develop, and maintain an iPhone application that connects to a web-service. I also created a lightweight back-end using Ruby on Rails that provides updated data to the application and allowed the client to securely create, update, and delete information from the database. The data was provided to the application using XML, which was then parsed and provided to the UI. As the project entered the development phase I was responsible for creating and maintaining a version control system using SVN and utilizing Doxygen to provide source code documentation to the client. Other technologies used included Cocoa Touch, Objective-C, CSS, Photoshop, and the XCode IDE. Lead Programmer Nintendo Wii/DS December 2007 Present Gorilla Systems, Corp, Tampa, FL As a lead programmer I found myself in charge of small teams of programmers. While my main responsibility was developing Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS software with C++, I was also responsible for software design, software documentation, and intelligently dividing the workload among my team. As a lead programmer I placed a strong focus on modularity and reusability in order to streamline our development cycle. I was responsible for maintaining contact with asset producers (artists) and designers to facilitate the timely exchange of information. As a manager I attempted to follow the principles of the Agile Development methodology wherever it made sense. Gorillas smaller size allowed me to have a direct influence on the design of certain segments of our games, which allowed me to learn the concepts of User Interface Design. During my time at Gorilla I designed and created custom user interfaces, developed a real-time audio mixing system leveraging Miles Sound System, created a character animation system, added MIDI playback and streaming audio support to our game engine, built many custom game play systems, created systems to facilitate haptic feedback, managed our asset pipeline, managed a version control system (SVN), and created multiple game play prototypes in order to explore new ideas and new technology. I am credited on All Star Cheer Squad (Wii), All Star Cheer Squad (DS), and All Star Cheer Squad 2 (Wii). My role at Gorilla facilitated my growth as the manager of a
development team and taught me to think on my feet and resolve problems
quickly and efficiently. Support Agent Verizon Contractor December 2006 December 2007 Siwel, Tampa, FL While at Verizon I provided level I and level II support for both internal and external users. Not only did I provide desktop support for Linux, Windows 2000, and Windows XP users, but I became the sole Macintosh Support agent for one of our commercial clients. As the Macintosh support agent I was responsible for creating scripts for the level I agents to follow while attempting to troubleshoot common Macintosh issues in my absence and resolving more complex issues for our users. The Macintosh computers were integrated into a fairly restrictive domain; to ease our users computing experience I created GUI wrappers for command line tools using XCode, Objective-C, and Cocoa. As a level II support agent I was responsible for basic Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange administration as well as resolving issues that the level I support agents were unable to. My time at Verizon introduced me to a strict corporate environment and allowed me to develop my ability to work effectively on a team of individuals with varying levels of aptitude. Owner/Operator Construction Industry December 2004 December 2006 Greater Tampa Area Rescreen, Tampa, FL I started Greater Tampa Area Rescreen (GTA) with a friend when we recognized an unmet need in the Tampa market. GTA focused on customer relationships, striving to meet and exceed customer demands and expectations. We prided ourselves on taking ownership of problematic issues and always coming to an amicable resolution, even if it cost us a little more. While managing GTA I developed strong time management skills while working within strict deadlines. I developed solid people management skills as I was responsible for keeping our crews well trained and busy. Managing GTA was a great experience and brought me face to face with the great responsibility that comes with running a business. While operating GTA I was responsible for creating and maintaining our web presence and visual identity, this included utilizing search engine optimization techniques coupled with Google Analytics reporting to create a flow of organic traffic while also utilizing Google AdWords as the base of a targeted marketing campaign. Our visual identity was reinforced with flyers, T-shirts, business cards, yard signs, and stickers that shared the same logo and color scheme as our web site. Technical Support Agent January 2003 December 2004 University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, WI While attending classes at the University of Wisconsin I took the technical support position with the school. As a technical support agent I was responsible for solving both staff and student computer issues. Our helpdesk had an emphasis on educating end-users in order to prevent issues from returning. While working for the university I participated in hardware roll-outs and network maintenance. Web Designer/Web Administrator January 2003 December 2005 Movable Storage, LLC, Green Bay, WI I created a web presence for Moveable Storage, delivering a turn-key solution that included the design, layout, administrator, and maintenance of an informational web site. While working with Moveable Storage I learned to balance client demands with my personal aesthetic preferences. Upon leaving Green Bay I worked with the client to ease the transition to a new web design firm. EDUCATIONPhilosophy
